Attending the receiption were Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son and leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment and the provincial People's Committee Office.
Ngoc expressed his delight to welcome the officials and briefed them about the province's socio-economic development situation.
Stressing that Ninh Binh is endowned with numerous landscapes, therefore, in the recent years, it has paid special attention to environmental protection and response to climate change.
Thanks to support of the ambassadors and AFD, the Kim Dai sluice building project has been completed. It helps prevent saltwater intrusion and climate change and provide fresh water for local people's life and agricultural production in six districts and cities in the southern part of Ninh Binh.
On this occasion, Ngoc extended his thanks to the ambassadors and the Director of AFD, and wished to continue to working closely in the next projects.
For his part, French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery thanked the provincial leaders for their warm welcome.
He said that the completion of Kim Dai sluice was partly attributed to the effort of local authority, so he hoped that AFD would receive more support from provincial leaders in implementing the next project.
Ambassador Giorgio Aliberti, Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, underscored that the AFD's projects aim to minimise the effects of climate change, thus helping Ninh Binh to preserve its environment in general and in the tourist sites in particular.
He also expressed his hope that the provincial administration would cooperate with the EU's partners to successfully implement the next projects in the coming time.
