UNESCO delegates, who are attending the international conference on promoting the values of UNESCO titles for sustainable development in Vietnam, on July 4 visited the Trang An ecological site.
UNESCO delegation visits Trang An ecological site
Assistant Director-General of the Africa Department of UNESCO Firmin Eduouard Matoko led the delegation.
The delegation spent hours to experience spectacular mountains, waters and caves in Trang An and listened to a presentation on the outstanding values of Trang An.
They also visited an exhibition house displaying cultural heritage Trang An which preserves numerous artifacts found in archeological excavations.
The delegation highly evaluated Ninh Binh's efforts in preserving and promoting the heritage values in line with the spirit of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage.
Representatives of UNESCO delegation also talked and exchanged with local people who are working at Trang An as tour guides, safeguards, boatmen, shopsalemen.....to understand more about the model of ensuring harmony between heritage conservation and sustainable livelihoods for local residents.
