UNESCO delegates, who are attending the international conference on promoting the values of UNESCO titles for sustainable development in Vietnam, on July 2 visited the historical and cultural relic site of Hoa Lu ancient capital in Hoa Lu district of Ninh Binh province.
Assistant Director-General of the Africa Department of UNESCO Firmin Eduouard Matoko led the delegation.
The delegation offered incense at King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh temples and listened to a presentation on the ancient capital of Dai Co Viet feudal state.
They also visited an exhibition house displaying cultural heritage of Dinh and Early Le Dynasties which preserves numerous artifacts found in archeological excavations.
The delegation highly evaluated Ninh Binh's efforts in preserving and promoting the heritage values in line with the spirit of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage.
