A decade ago, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex became Vietnam's first "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" officially recognised by UNESCO. It has quickly become a leading tourist attraction, with its strong tourism types such as landscape-ecology-history and spirituality, Ninh Binh chose archaeological tourism for the greener and sustainable development of "the first and only mixed heritage of Southeast Asia".

The opening ceremony of the second Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival 2023 was held on December 26 evening in the world cultural and natural heritage site of Trang An Scienic Landscape Complex with the theme "The colour of heritage -Convergence and pervasion".

Trang An landscape complex has met the criteria of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisations (UNESCO) on outstanding universal values of World Heritage, for this reason, the complex has been officially recognised as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
