The European Commission (EC)'s fifth inspection on Vietnam's fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing will be the decisive time for Vietnam to have the EC's "yellow card" warning removed, requiring the whole political system to take this as an important task and act with the highest determination, according to a Government Office announcement on Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang's conclusions at a recent conference.

In the recent time, the northern province of Ninh Binh has carried out synchronic solutions to fight illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in a bid to protect the marine ecosystem, build a responsible fishing industry and join in the whole country's efforts to have the European Commission (EC)'s "yellow card" warning against Vietnam's seafood removed.

A senior Party official has demanded full awareness, full action, and full determination be made to have the "yellow card" warning over illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing lifted this year.

In the past years, the northern province of Ninh Binh has continuously implemented many solutions to fight illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishingin a bid to have the European Commission (EC)'s "yellow card" warning against Vietnam's seafood removed.

In a joint effort to have the European Commission (EC)'s "yellow card" warning against Vietnam's seafood lifted, Ninh Binh authorities have actively instructed related units and agencies to take a wide range of measures to prevent illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed Decision No. 81/QD-TTg promulgating the "Action plan to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, preparing to work with the 4th European Commission Inspection Delegation".
