In an effort to improve living conditions of people in rural areas and expand markets for local farm produce, the northern province of Ninh Binh has focused on developing key local products in association with the OCOP programme, thereby building brands for local farm produce and increasing their values.
Ninh Binh province is endowed with rich historical and cultural values as the former capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries. These values have now been integrated into signature local products within the "One commune - One product" (OCOP) programme.
The implementation of the OCOP programme in the past five years has helped Ninh Binh open up opportunities to develop production and increase values for local products, thereby contributing to the effective performance of the national target programmes on new-style rural areas.
The Departments of Industry and Trade of Ninh Binh, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu jointly held a conference on October 30 to connect goods supply-demand among these provinces.
