The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on April 11 announced the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 2022 rankings.

The Resolution of the 22nd Congress of the Ninh Binh Party Organisation set a goal of improving the provincial business and investment environment and improving its competitiveness capacity. In an attempt to realise the target, Ninh Binh has implemented the District and Department Competitiveness Index (DDCI), thereby creating momentum for the province's socio-economic development.

Vietnam recorded year-on-year growth of 3.15% in the 2022 consumer price index (CPI) while core inflation increased 2.59%, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said on December 29.

In an effort to improve the Department and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI) in 2022, Ninh Binh province's management board of industrial parks (IPs) has carried out numerous solutions, focusing on improving the investment and business climate, increasing competitiveness, and promptly handling obstacles faced by enterprises, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI).

In 2021, it ranked 6th among 63 provinces and cities nationwide in the Digital Transformation Index (DTI), up places from the previous year.

The consumer price index (CPI) posted year-on-year growth of 2.89% in the first 10 months of 2022 while core inflation rose 2.14%, the General Statistics Office (GSO) revealed on October 29.

Vietnam is placed 48th among 132 economies in the Global Innovation Index 2022.

Ninh Binh's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 1.08% of in the first six months of 2022 while its industrial production value was estimated to reach 48 trillion VND (2 billion USD), up 4% year on year and making up 43.9% of the yearly plan, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.

Though it has improved its management and governance and administrative reform, Ninh Binh's provincial competitiveness index (PCI) in 2021 remains low without improvement in the ranking as compared to the previous year. Having defined enhancing the competitiveness edge as one of the most important tasks, local authorities have taken solutions to improve the province's business and investment climate and PCI in the coming time.

The Government Steering Committee for Public Administration Reforms (PAR) on May 25 held a conference to announce the Satisfaction Index of Public Administrative Services (SIPAS) 2021 and the PAR Index of ministries and ministrial-level agencies and the People's Committees of provinces and cities nationwide.
