The Party Committees of Ninh Binh and Thua Thien-Hue provinces held a conference to exchange experiences in restoring, preserving and promoting the values of heritages, developing tourism and building a centrally-run city with typical characteristics of ancient heritage cities and special mechanisms, policies.

According to the master planning scheme of Ninh Binh in the 2021-2030 period with a vision until 2050, which was signed for approval by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on March 4, the province sets a target of turning itself into a leading automobile industry hub in the country; a millennium heritage urban area, a creative city and one of the 10 provinces and centrally-run cities having the highest per capita income.

Ninh Binh province is digitalising cultural heritage database, creating a new progress step in the preservation work and bring heritages closer to the public.

Ninh Binh province will organise a range of activities this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of UNESCO's recognition of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, located at the southern edge of the Red River Delta in Ninh Binh province, comprises three protected areas: the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong Scenic Landscape, and the Hoa Lu Special-Use Forest. Recognised by UNESCO in 2014, it is the first mixed cultural and natural heritage site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Ninh Binh province, which is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, hopes to integrate into the global network of heritage cities and towns to learn preservation and tourism development experiences through UNESCO, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan has said.

Ninh Binh has marked its name on the world tourism map as it is home to not only the world cultural and natural heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex but also numerous poetic and attractive beauty spots that are featured with unique cultural values of Hoa Lu ancient capital.

The district of Hoa Lu will be merged into Ninh Binh city with an orientation of exploiting cultural and historical values of Hoa Lu ancient capital and outstanding values of Trang An heritage site to turn Ninh Binh into a national hub of culture, history and tourism.

Ninh Binh is not only famous for its gorgeous landscape and nature, it also owns rich cultural identity with numerous wonders, historical vestiges and a unique world cultural and natural heritage. In the past time, the province has paid special attention to promoting cultural advantages in its strategy on socio-economic development.

The northern province of Ninh Binh has successfully promoted the value of its heritage to serve sustainable tourism development.
