Van Long Lake, situated in Gia Van Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh Province, is the largest wetland nature reserve in the northern delta region of Viet Nam. With a natural area of nearly 3,500 hectares, the lake is currently home to thousands of animals, plants and aquatic organisms, particularly the critically endangered Delacour langur (Trachypithecus delacouri) endemic to Viet Nam. This is an ideal destination for short-time travel for it is only 80 kilometres from Ha Noi, the capital of Viet Nam.

Trang An Landscape Complex covers an area of 6,172ha in districts of Hoa Lu, Gia Vien, Nho Quan, Tam Diep Town and Ninh Binh City, about 90km to the southeast of Ha Noi. The complex is surrounded by a buffer zone of 6,268ha, mostly comprising paddy rice fields and villages. As a mixed cultural and natural property, Trang An Landscape Complex contains three protected areas, including Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel Cultural - Historical Area; Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong Scenic Area and Hoa Lu Special-Use Primary Forest.

More than 63,000 visitors, including 6,660 foreigners, visited the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ba Dinh historical and cultural relic site in Ha Noi during the National Reunification Day and May Day holidays that began on April 30, the mausoleum management board reported.
