According to scientists, the value of wood accounts only 10 percent of forests and the remaining 90 percent belongs to other values such as land and water resource protection, natural disaster mitigation, climate regulation, environmental protection, resort activities and tourism. Therefore, in the recent past, Ninh Binh has done its utmost in protecting nature and forest in combination with tourism development by carrying out synchronous measures and policies.
With thousands of hectares of forest land and favourable conditions in terms of climate and terrain, the northern province of Ninh Binh boasts strengths to develop forest economic activities. Especially, thanks to its creativeness as mobilising many stake-holders in forest protection, the province's forest area has been maintained and expanded annually.
