In May alone, the province's industrial production value reached 7.45 trillion VND (323.2 million USD), representing an increase of 13 against the same period last year.
In the January-May period, the total industrial production value was 36 trillion VND (1.55 billion USD), a year-on-year rise of 17.6 percent.
The mining industry saw growth of 13.2 percent, while the processing and manufacturing industry expanded 18 percent; and the water supply and waste-wastewater treatment sector enjoyed growth of 18.9 percent.
Some products achieved high growth such as mined stone (59.6 percent), embroidery products (79.1 percent), clothes (10.4 percent), urea fertilizer (35.2 percent); camera modules (56.1 percent) and automobiles (23.6 percent).
Meanwhile, several products witnessed declines, including canned corn (down 38.9 percent), mineral water (10.3 percent), gloves (43.7 percent), electronic components (21.7 percent) and earphones (65.5 percent).
