Ninh Binh's rapidy growing industrial production in recent years has led to the great demand for raw materials, components, equipment and accessories serving production. However, enterprises operating in support industries have so far accounted for a small proportion of the locality's total industrial production value. Recognising the important role of the support industries, the Government, ministries, and Ninh Binh province have issued numerous documents to boost the development of the support industries.

Vietnam exported 4.53 million tonnes of rice in the first eight months of 2018, bringing in US$2.29 billion, a rise of 10.5% in volume and 26.5% in value, according to the General Department of Customs.

Vietnam earned 1.1 billion USD from exporting 2.16 million tonnes of rice in the first four months of 2018, up 35.7 percent in value and 21.7 percent in volume.

Aquatic export in the first quarter of 2018 was estimated at 441,500 tonnes, worth US$1.67 billion, up 8.73% in volume and 11.2% in value against the same period last year, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In 2017, the province's export value was maintained high, at1.154 billion USD, an increase of 13% agaisnt 2016.

The exports of agricultural-forestry-aquatic products in June reached US$2.97 billion, raising the total export value in the first half of the year to US$17.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Vietnam exported 432,000 tonnes of rice for 191 million USD in August, bringing the total volume and value in the first eight months of this year to 3.37 million tonnes and 1.51 billion USD.
