Ninh Binh strives to fulfill growth target set for 2022

Overcoming difficulties

According to the provincial Statistics Office, in the first six months of 2022, Ninh Binh's GRPD was 22.5 trillion VND (968 million USD), a year-on-year increase of 3.53%, making up for 46.5 % of the yearly plan.

The figure is much lower than the yearly target of 7% and is the lowest level in the past five years. 

The reasons were attributed to the fall of industrial production and prolonged site clearance for some projects, causing bad impacts on manufacturing and business activities.

Moreover, complicated developments of animal diseases and the irresponsibility of some units localities are also reasons for the low economic growth.

In addition, uncertainties in the world and the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in material and component shortages for production and disruption in consumption markets.

To overcome these difficulties, local administrations and sectors have taken numerous solutions to boost growth, focused on promoting their inner strength and capitaling on resources for development, sped up administrative reforms and eased difficulties for local businesses. Therefore, the agriculture, industry and service sectors have enjoyed better growth in July.

The province's industrial production value in the seven months of 2022 hit 57.3 trillion VND (2.46 billion USD), up 5% against same period last year. 

Ninh Binh's export turnover reached 262 million USD in July while total retail sales hit 4.8 trillion VND (206 million USD) in the month, a rise of 72.4% from the same period last year.

Tourism activities have been revived strongly with the number of tourist arrivals hitting 362,800, a six-fold rise year on year.

Total budget collection reached nearly 12.99 trillion VND (555 million USD), accounting for 64.9 of the yearly estimate, a year on year rise of 4.2 %.

It is expected that Ninh Binh could fulfill the target of budget collection for the whole year.

Creating momentum for growth

In a bid to create momentum for growth, since the beginning of 2022, leaders of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee attended numerous dialogues with firms to collect their ideas and suggestions, then promptly removing difficulties for them to boost production and business. 

Under the spirit of shifting the working style from "managing" to "serving" local people and businesses, leaders of the provincial People's Committee, departments and sectors, have regularly inspected production and business activities of enterprises in industrial clusters and industrial zones.

Besides, leaders of the provincial People's Committee have also regularly worked with heads of departments, agencies and sectors to grasp the situation and promptly direct the implementation of suitable measures.

Besides specific solutions, administrations at all levels and sectors were urged to have stronger determination and actions, thus creating favourable conditions for the province's development in the following years.
