Volleyball Championship Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2021 opens in Ninh Binh

The tournament was jointly held by Ninh Binh province and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation.

Attending the opening ceremony were member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Chairman of the provincial People's Council Tran Hong Quang; and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc, among others.

The Volleyball Championship Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2021 saw the participation of six strong women's teams, including Hai Tien Thanh Hoa, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Than (Coal) Quang Ninh, WSUN Thai Binh, Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh and Ninh Binh Doveco.

This year marks the first time Ninh Binh Doveco of the host province has competed in the tournament.

The four-day competition also drew six men's teams, including Trang An Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Sanest Khanh Hoa, Border Guards and The Cong. 

The event provides a chance for the participating teams to improve their skills before they take part in the first round of the National Volleyball Championship 2021.

It also aims to encourage sport-playing and physical training movements among people, and celebrate the success of the 13th National Party Congress, the National Tourism Year 2021 hosted by Ninh Binh province, the 90th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26) and the 75th anniversary of Vietnam Sport Day.

Right after the opening ceremony, Ninh Binh Doveco competed against WSUN Thai Binh in Group B of the women's category. The match was broadcast live on Ninh Binh's television channel.
