Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh made the above statement during his talks with RoK FM Yun Byung-se in Ha Noi on Monday.
The Deputy PM, FM called for RoK businesses' involvement in restructuring State-owned enterprises and banking system.
He also asked the Korean side to continue non-refundable aid and official development assistance for Viet Nam.
As the global and regional situations have changed quickly and complicatedly, Deputy PM, FM Minh stressed that maintaining peace, stability and development in the region is the common interest and responsibility of countries inside and outside the region.
Both sides agreed to foster coordination at multilateral mechanisms like ASEAN, APEC, ASEAN, and Mekong-RoK; accelerate the settlement of differences, including East Sea disputes through peaceful measures in line with international law with respect for diplomatic and legal processes, for maritime freedom, security and safety, and for the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea.
A Code of Conduct in the East Sea needs to be concluded soon in a bid to contribute to the maintenance of peace, security and development in the region and the world.
RoK FM Yun highly valued the achievements of the bilateral ties over the past 25 years, affirming the Korean Foreign Ministry will continue close collaboration with Viet Nam to beef up realization of high-level agreements in a practical and effective manner so as to further lift up the Viet Nam-RoK Strategic Partnership to new heights.
