Vietnamese PM highlights all-round ties with Algeria

At their meeting in Algiers, PM Nguyen Tan Dung congratulated the host on his re-election as President for the fourth term and attainments that the Algerian people have achieved in national stability, reconciliation, reform, and development.

He said the Vietnamese people always remember Algeria's enormous assistance to their country in national liberation and development.

Briefing President Bouteflika on outcomes of the talks with PM Abdelmalek Sellal, the Vietnamese leader said the two sides extensively discussed issues of mutual concern, especially ways to deepen multi-faceted cooperation.

They reached a strong consensus on measures and orientations to bolster bilateral ties, particularly in investment, trade, labour, health care, culture, and tourism, he added.

He voiced his belief that with the strong determination of the two countries' leaders and peoples, their time-tested friendship and collaboration would continue growing to a new level.

For his part, President Bouteflika said both nations should keep nurturing their traditional amity and highly valued outcomes of the talks between the two PMs, especially the agreement on tightening links in fields like politics, economics, culture, education, defence, and security.

He also expressed his support to Vietnam's stance on peacefully settling disputes in the East Sea with respect to international law, ultimately ensuring peace, stability, and maritime security and safety in the region.

At the meeting, PM Nguyen Tan Dung presented the Algerian President with memoirs written in French by former Vietnamese Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh.

At another meeting the same day, the government leader asked the Vietnamese Embassy to work harder to enhance Vietnam-Algeria relations while expecting the expatriate community to help popularise the land, culture, and people of Vietnam in order to expand mutual understanding between the two countries.
