The figure includes 4.3 million who travelled to Vietnam for tourism (up 3.9% year-on-year); 1.2 million on business (up 5.7%); 1.2 million came to visit relatives (up 8.6%) and 405, 000 visitors for other reasons (up 10.7%).
Overseas arrivals came mostly from Germany, Hong Kong (China), Russia, China, Cambodia, the Philippines and Italy. Among the markets, the number of travelers from Hong Kong (China) increased highest with 161.2%, followed by Russia, up 125.2%.
Russian visitors are expected to increase from November, 2014 to April, 2015. In November alone, 50,894 Russian visitors arrived in Vietnam, an increase of 340% compared to October.
Over the past 11 months, the number of domestic tourists also increased by 8.9% to reach 36.4 million domestic tourists.
