The Thai delegation was headed by General Wanlop Rugsunaoh, Secretary-General of Thailand's Security Council.
At the JWG-11 meeting, the two sides agreed that the Vietnam - Thailand traditional friendship has been consistantly strengthened and developed in all fields, particularly politics, economy, culture, society, education, security and defence.
The participants also emphasised the importance of the joint working group on political-security cooperation that has significantly contributed to enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries in a more practical and deeper manner, for the common good of the two peoples.
They shared their views on regional and international issues that have an impact on political and security cooperation between the two countries, while reviewing and evaluating their cooperation in the fields of politics, security-intelligence, defence, the prevention of transnational crime, law, justice and other relevant issues.
The two sides agreed on the content and direction for the political-security cooperation between the two nations for the next upcoming period, contributing to the effective implementation of the action plan to boosting Vietnam - Thailand strategic partnership.
During their stay in Thailand, the Vietnamese delegation's head Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, along with several others, paid a courtesy call to General Prawit Wongsuwan Deputy Prime Minister in charge of security of Thailand.
The delegation also visited some destinations and joined a sporting exchange event with the host's members to enhance the understanding of Thai traditional culture and customs and strengthen the friendship between the two sides.
The 12th meeting of the Vietnam - Thailand Joint Working Group on Political-Security Cooperation will be held in Vietnam.
