Vietnam ranks third on fourth day at ASEAN Para Games

With 39 gold medals by mid-day January 18, the Vietnamese team remains in third place, following Thailand and Indonesia at the ongoing seventh ASEAN Para Games in Myanmar.
The team won seven more gold on January 18 morning alone, with four in track-and-field and three in swimming.Nguyen Thi Thuy broke her own record, set in the 2005 Games in the Philippines, in the 200-metre running category, whilst Ha Thi Hue, Vuong Chau and Thanh Lan set three new ASEAN Para Games records in shot-put, discus and javelin throw.Track-and-field athletes have so far contributed 14 gold medals to the Vietnamese collection.By 13:00 of January 18, the swimming team reached its set target of 20 gold medals with three gold bagged by Le Tien Dat, Van Hanh and Thanh Tung.
