Addressing the ceremony, Minister Phung Quang Thanh stressed: The Vietnam national defence television channel is an official organ of the Military Commission of the Party Central Committee, the Ministry of National Defence and the voice of the Vietnamese armed forces and people.
The channel aims to spread information on military and national defence tasks, the building of the people's army in combination with the people-based national defence, actively contributing to the cause of national construction and protection.
He suggested that in order to attract more viewers, the centre will continue to improve its troops and employees' professionalism to meet their increasing demands in tasks.
In addition, the army radio-television centre will work together with the military-run telecom group Viettel to improve its technique facilities, and with other TV teams in the whole-army units to gradually meet the requirements to draw more and more viewers, from inside and outside the army, in the upcoming time.
The channel will highlight some main categories, including news-political commentary; national defence education; science-education; and culture-movie-sports.
The channel is expected to broadcast 18.5 hours a day, from 5.30 am to 24.00 pm, via VCTV, SCTV, HTVC, and Viettel's IPTV and Mobile TV services./.
