Lt. Gen. Nguyen Trong Nghia, deputy director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, made the assessment at a reception on May 12 for a Lao delegation led by Major General Phouvong Vong Phom, acting Director of the General Department of Logistics of the Lao Defence Ministry, and Cambodian guests led by Oc Nha Chao Phally, undersecretary of state at the Cambodian Defense Ministry.
At the function, Nghia stressed that the three countries enjoy similarities in historical and cultural aspects as well as a long-standing friendship and solidarity.
He expressed his hope that the Lao and Cambodian guests' visit would help further reinforce and tighten the relations between the three countries.
The two head delegates expressed deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, Government, People's Army and people for aiding Laos and Cambodia in their struggle for independence as well as in national construction and defence.
They affirmed that they would maintain and further strengthen the solidarity between the three armed forces and peoples.
