Striker Van Toan proved his reputation as Vietnam's top goal hunter by scoring all three goals in the team's striking victory in the 18th, 44th and 89th minute.
Myanmar also seized an opportunity to nail a consolation goal five minutes on the hour mark; however, it was not enough to help them reverse the situation.
The fourth consecutive victory helps Vietnam cement their top spot of Group B with 12 points, followed by Indonesia in second place with nine points.
Next up for Vietnam is a meeting with their final Group B opponent Brunei DS tomorrow before they enter the knock-out round two days later.
