The Pencak Silat team accounted for three of the golds following finals victories from Le Sy Kien (men's 85kg), Nguyen Duy Tuyen (men's 80kg) and Nguyen Thi Yen (women's 70-75kg).
Shooters Ho Thanh Hai, Hoang Xuan Vinh, Nguyen Hoang Phuong and Tran Quoc Cuong picked up the men's team 10m air pistol gold with 1,705 points, before Xuan Vinh sealed another in the individual discipline, scoring 199.7 points.
Cueist Dang Dinh Tien took top honours in the men's one-cushion carom event. The 53-year-old, the oldest athlete of the Vietnam sports contingent, finished off his teammate Ma Minh Cam with a score of 100-85 to claim the title.
The last gold medal went to swimmer Lam Quang Nhat in the men's 1,500m freestyle discipline, with a time of 15:39.44. This is the third gold Vietnam has claimed in the swimming, following the two previous by Nguyen Thi Anh Vien.
Race-walker Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc failed to defend her 20km crown, finishing in second place behind Saw Mar Lar Nwe of Myanmar.
Other silver medals were recorded by Vo Xuan Vinh (men's 20km race-walking), Ma Minh Cam (men's one-cushion carom, billiards), Le Thi Phuong (women's high jump), Hoang Tan Tai (men's 85kg weightlifting), Quach Thi Lan (women's 400m, athletics), Pham Van Ty (men's 70-75kg, Pencak Silat), Dang Toan Thang (men's 70kg, Pencak Silat) and Vo Duy Phuong (men's 55kg, Pencak Silat).
Vietnam also won six additional bronze medals in weightlifting (2), petanque (1), karate (1) and track and field (2).
