Vietnam calls for foreign investment in 127 projects by 2020

The approved projects are divided into five groups: technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, agriculture, preservation and processing, and manufacturing and services.

The list consists of 51 technical infrastructure projects, which cover the areas of transport, energy, water supply, urban solid waste treatment and industrial zone infrastructure.

There are 20 projects in the field of social infrastructure, which will invest in infrastructure for the education and training, health, culture, sports and tourism sectors.

Another 44 projects in the area of agriculture are intended to attract foreign investment in the cultivation, breeding, aquaculture and forestry sectors.

The preservation and processing area appeals for investment in eight projects, and the manufacturing and service area calls for investment in four projects.

The PM has required the Ministry of Planning and Investment to co-ordinate with relevant ministries, sectors and localities to disseminate information on the approved projects, to organise investment promotion activities and to supplement or adjust the list as necessary.
