The Vietnam Book Day 2021 was launched in Ninh Binh province on April 13 along with various sideline activities in response to the event.

The event was jointly held by the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Education and Training.
The sideline event include a photo exhibition themed "Uncle Ho with the National Assembly elections" and the launching of an information portal serving the upcoming elections in the province.
Attending the opening ceremony were Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin; Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council Bui Hoang Ha; and Head of the provincial Party Committee's Board for Information and Education Bui Mai Hoa.
In its 8th edition, the Vietnam Book Day has become a cultural event aimed to form and develop the reading culture among people of all strata, towards building a learning society, while honouring the role and position of books in society.
On this occasion, the Department of Information and Communications called on businesses and units both in and outside the province to donate 35 gift packages and scholarships worth 45 million VND in total to local poor students.

Delegates pressed the button to launch the information portal serving the upcoming elections and visited the photo exhibition.
The Vietnam Book Day and the photo exhibition will be opened to the public at the provincial library until April 21.
