The event was officially opened at the provincial library in Ninh Binh city on April 23 by the provincial Department of Information and Communications, Department of Culture and Sports and Department of Education and Training.
Hundreds of book titles in different areas such as politics, law, economics, science, technology, are being exhibited.
Some events relating to books and reading culture are taking place within the framework of the fourth Vietnam Book Day, together with book introduction, and a competition "Student tells stories about Uncle Ho"
Participating businesses are offering books at discount prices.
Also at the event, local enterprises and organizations provided scholarships for 40 disadvantaged students, and scholarships for English courses for 200 outstanding pupils.
The event looks to encourage and develop reading culture in the community while appreciating efforts of those who are involved in book publishing such as book collectors, writers, publishers and distributors.
It will run though April 26.
