At the excavated site, archeologists dug up traces of a storage area of clay, the main material for making ceramic items as well as vestiges of an earthen trail. Besides, they have also unearthed over 6,000 fragments of exquisite decorative things, potteries, ceramics, and petrified rice.
Experts strongly believed that the area might have been a ceramic making area under the Tran dynasty in 1225
Under the Tran dynasty, the Vu Lam Palace was an important military base since it was built to serve the fighting against the Mongol invaders in the year 1285.
The excavation will come up with important information regarding how the Tran dynasty could defeat the Mongol invaders- which were considered as among the world's leading military force in the history of mankind-three times.
It also helps people learn more about the history and contributions of the Tran dynasty to the development of the country.
It will support further research, as well as the conservation and promotion of the cultural and historical values of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage site of Trang An.
