The Trang An festival 2019, themed "Quintessence converges in the rock kingdom of Hoa Lu" is taking place in the Trang An Landscape Complex, in the northern province of Ninh Binh on April 21-22.
The annual festival is held on the 18th day of the third lunar month to commemorate national heros, Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong-a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King and Tran Kings who made great contributions to establishing and protecting the country.
This is an occasion for locals to pay tribute to the ancestors and pray for peace, happiness and bumper crops.
This year's event will highlight the history of Vietnam under the Dinh, Le and Tran dynasties in the Hoa Lu ancient capital region.
The festival also features traditional rituals and musical performances from localities nationwide such as Ha Giang, Bac Ninh,Hoa Binh, and Bac Kan.
