Nearly 77,000 tourists visited UNESCO-recognised Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh over the holiday. More than 2,760 ships carried approximately 26,620 cruise passengers to the bay. Dai Duong (Ocean) Park in the province was visited by nearly 70,000 people.
Quang Ninh province welcomed 530,000 holiday makers overall, a year-on-year increase of 26%.
Meanwhile, the Buu Long tourist site in Dong Nai province received 70,000 travellers, up 200% against the same period last year.
Around 180,000 visitors paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh at his hometown in Kim Lien Relic Site in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. The visitor numbers included many foreigners from Laos, France, the Republic of Korea, and the Philippines.
The number of visitors to Hanoi during the four-day holiday saw an increase of 10%, as 310,000 people, including 66,000 foreigners arrived in the capital city. The city is estimated to earn VND904 billion (US$39.4 million) from tourism services, up 8% year-on-year.
