Tourist arrivals in Ninh Binh drop 70 percent in April

The northern province of Ninh Binh recorded its largest drop in tourists ever in April following its temporarily closure of local destinations due to fear of COVID-19 spread.
The number of tourist arrivals to Ninh Binh in April estimated at 3,4 million, a year-on-year drop of 95.6 pecent. The tourism sector earned only 5,6 billion VND (238 million USD), down 98.5 percent.
In first four months of 2020, over 1.2 million guests came to Ninh Binh, fell up to 71.5 percent compared to same period last year. The figure included over 1 million domestic visitors and more than 155,000 foreign tourists, year-on-year decreases of 71 percent and 50 percent, respectively.
The total revenue from tourism reached over 690 billion VND (10 million USD), marking a drop of 62 percent from the same period of 2019.
