Third session of 14th Ninh Binh People's Council opens

The session was attended by Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Thanh, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Dien, Chairman of the provincial People's council Tran Hong Quang, among others.

The session will dicuss asocio-economic developmentplan andstate bugdet estimates and allocation for 2017. It will have a question-and-answer session.

At the openning session, Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung informed delegates about the outcomes of the second session of the 14th National Assembly.

The delegates listened to the reports on socio-economic achievements in 2016, and orientations and tasks for 2017.

Accordingly, the province achieved a GRDP growth of7.76% and its budget revenues were estimated at VND 5,653 billion, exceeding the year plan by 18.1%. 

On the building of new rural areas, 60 communes and one district have so far met the set new rural area criteria.

The delegates heard that social security and welfare have been guaranteed and socio-political stability, national defense and security have been maintained.

Ninh Binh set goals and solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan for 2017, focussing on accelerating production, transforming the mode of growth sustainably, continuously improving the investment climate, removing difficulties in production and business, ensuring social security, and reducing poverty rate.

The 3rd session of the 14th People's Council will last until December 14.
