In the 1st quarter of 2013, the commodity market experienced a lively period of abundant goods which are varied in brands, designs and fairly stable in price.
Before and during Lunar New Year 2013, there was an excessive increase in both purchasing power and prices increased, but this did not cause any long-lasting effect. The total sum of commodity retail reached over 3.708 billions VND, 24.4% higher than that of the previous year. Among the commodity, food products gained the highest consumption of 1.296,7 VND, rising by 28.6% in compared with the same period of the previous year. The consumption of clothing products rose by 22.7%; household appliances witnessed a growth of 24.5% while woods and building materials enjoyed a leap of 25%.
