Steering committee on reviewing 30 years of renewal convenes third session

The steering committee appreciated the activities of the Theory Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee - a standing agency of the SCRRP, and other editorial boards for organising many surveys, seminars, discussions and a large-scale sociological investigation across the country, as well as gathering ideas from agencies, organisations and localities for the draft report on reviewing 30 years of implementing the renewal process (1986-2016).

The draft report was developed with the participation of Party committees and leaders from 48 ministries, central agencies, theoretical and scientific research bodies and 16 provincial and municipal Party committees. The draft report focuses on 10 major issues in economics, culture, society, national defence, security, external affairs, the political system and Party building.

At the session, the steering committee also suggested directions to complete the draft report on issues related to reasons for achievements and shortcomings, major lessons drawn from the implementation, as well as factors which can continue to affect the renewal process in the future.
