Seminar seeks ways to restore and promote heritage values of Hoa Lu ancient capital

The seminar was co-chaired by member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee Associate Prof. Dr. Doan Minh Huan; Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh and President of the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Cuong.

In his openning remarks, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan, said though Hoa Lu capital only existed for 42 years under three dynasties of Dinh, Tien Le and Ly, it still had a very special position in the cause of the country's national construction and defence.

After moving the capital from Hoa Lu to Thang Long (Ha Noi capital), there were many heritages on the ground and many others under the ground or also moved to Thang Long. These heritages have been  deteriorated over the time. Therefore, it is necessary to restore and preserve old buildings, landscapes and unique cultural values of Hoa Lu in combination with educating traditions and stimulating the development of the cultural industry.

The seminar would help collect scientific researches on Hoa Lu citadel, and provide new documents and important scientific grounds to serve the simulation and restoration of Hoa Lu citadel in particular and Hoa Lu capital in general, thus contributing to the province's cultural and socio-economic development.

At the seminar, managers, scientists, experts shared their knowledge and experiences for Ninh Binh to define and build plans and solutions to soon expedite the plan on restoring Hoa Lu citadel in particular and Hoa Lu capital in general.
