The Vietnam Administration of Tourism and the Ninh Binh provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism co-organised a seminar on"Developing spiritual tours in the Red River Delta localities of Hanoi, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Ha Nam in Ninh Binh city on October 30.
Participants discussed potential and advantages of developing spiritual tours as there were viewpoints saying the Red River Delta's tourism has not been fully tapped.
Poor tourism products and ineffective tourism promotion programs need to be addressed, they said. Additionally, co-operation among cities and provinces in the Red River Delta should be improved to build up high-quality tourism products and services.
These efforts could boost spiritual tours in the region, participants agreed.
Addressing the seminar, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh People's Committee Dinh Chung Phung briefed participants about the outcomes of the local tourism sector in recent time.
Thanks to blessed natural conditions and tourism potentials, the local tourism sector saw strong development, including spiritual tourism.
In the first nine months of 2015, Ninh Binh welcomed over 5 million tourist arrivals, up 36 percent year on year, and earned a revenue of over VND1.1 trillion (USD 49.1 million).
The province continues to create favorable conditions to attract more investors in tourism, Phung stressed.
The same day, participants took a sightseeing tour to places of interest in the province.
