Semen is the largest cement company in Indonesia with an annual capacity of 29 million tonnes. By the end of 2012, Semen Indonesia Group became the strategic shareholder of the Thang Long Cement Joint Stock Company with 70% of shares. In May 2013, the company turned out its new product called cement PC 50 for export to Indonesia with a volume of over 10,000 tons.
During the working session, Dien briefed his guest on the province's socio-economic situation, investment incentives, policies as well as capacity of the factories in the province. Ninh Binh is oriented to become a tourist centre of the country; therefore, it is necessary for the province to take into account the building of more cement factories, he said.
After hearing the Semen official's introduction of the group's capacity as well as desire to for opportunities to invest in the province, Dien said Ninh Binh authorities will create the best conditions for Semen Indonesia group to invest in other fields like high-quality and specialized support materials for the construction industry, especially tourism and and services.
He said he hoped the cooperation between Ninh Binh province and Semen Indonesia Group in the coming time will help tighten the relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia and build a prosperous ASEAN bloc.
