The reports included the programme on building laws and ordinances of the NA in 2015 and 2016, implementation of Article 60 of the Social Insurance Law in 2014, projected Law on NA and People's Council's Monitoring, and discussion on some of the contents under the draft (amended) Vietnam Fatherland Front Law and the draft Law on Military Service (amended).
Discussing a plan adjusting the law and ordinance making programmes in 2015 and 2016, NA deputies agreed that the NA's Law Committee, the Government's agencies and related organisations have paid attempts in formulation of laws and ordinances, contributing to the improvement in quality and preparation progress of the projected laws.
To further improve law building work in the coming time, the NA's Law Committee proposed to add five more laws to the NA's law building and endorsement programme this year, and the plan for 2016 will cover 31 laws, two decrees and one resolution.
Deputies concurred that law building is a key task in order to institutionalise the Party's resolutions and constitutional regulations in 2016.
During their morning session, deputies also heard a report on Article 60 of the 2014 Law on Social Insurance, delivered by Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen.
According to the report, the Government asked for modification of the article so as to create a flexible policy on social insurance, thus meeting the aspiration of a number of labourers.
Deputies also discussed the verification of the draft revised code of criminal procedures and heard presentation on the draft Law on the Supervisory Activities of the NA and People's Councils.
The lawmakers also discussed the draft revised Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in which they focused on the range of revisions; the VFF's organisation, tasks and authority, as well as rights and responsibilities of the agencies, bodies subjected to the VFF supervision; the relationship between the VFF and the people, among others.
In the afternoon session, NA deputies heard reports and discussed some points in the draft revised Law on Military Service.
