Season of festivals on rivers in Ninh Binh
Most of the traditional folk festivals in the province take place on rivers as they are influenced by the Red River Delta Civilization - wet rice cultivation for hundreds of years.
The Red River Delta Civilization has created a wide range of arts, including Cheo singing and water puppetry as well as traditional festivals and rituals.
The water procession and dragon procession rituals of traditional festivals such as Trang An festival, Hoa Lu festival, Thai Vi temple festival and Nguyen Saint Temple festival are held on the rivers.
The annual Tam Coc - Trang An Tourism Week has been also organised on river with outstanding cultural and artistic activities.
These reflect the diversity in the spiritual life of people living in the Red River Delta in general and in Ninh Binh in particular.
