With his endless contributions to the conservation of wildlife animals, especially pangolins, over the past 20 years, Nguyen Van Thai, Director of Save Vietnam's Wildlife which is headquartered in Cuc Phuong National Park in Ninh Binh province's Nho Quan district, has become the first Vietnamese elected as Vice Chairman of IUCN SSC Pangolin Specialist Group.

Save Vietnam's Wildlife (SVW), a national NGO aimed at implementing effective solutions to secure a future for Vietnamese wildlife, in collaboration with Cuc Phuong National Park has recently released 53 Javan pangolins (Manis javanica) into the wild.
