The northern province of Ninh Binh has set a goal of having 12 more communes to be recognized as new-style rural areas at the end of this year.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh and a delegation of National Assembly (NA) deputies of Ninh Binh city, held meetings with voters in Ninh Phuc commune on June 19, to inform them of the schedule time, contents of the eighth meeting of the 14th Provincial People's Council; a brief report of socio-economic performance in the first half of 2018; and the outcomes of addressing Ninh Phuc voters's proposals in the previous meeting.
Aiming to achieve the set targets of national program for building new-style rural areas in 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has developed key tasks.
As many as 2,884 communes or 32.3 percent of communes nationwide were recognized as new-style rural areas by the end of November 2017, surpassing the target of at least 31 percent.
