In the reviewed period, the province's industrial production value hit nearly 22.23 trillion VND (945 million USD), a year-on-year increase of 4.1%. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) saw an increase of 3.32%.
The processing and manufacturing industry was up 1.32%; mining, up 20.87%; electricity production and distribution, two-fold rise; water supply and wastewater treatment up 4.61%.
In the January-March period, revenue of businesses in industrial parks reached 15.46 trillion VND (619.26 million USD), representing a year-on-year rise of 5.2%.
Some industrial products saw growth, namely urea fertilizer, 2.3-fold rise; steel up 18.9%; floating glass up 6.5%; electronic components up 16.3%; and clothes up 11.6%.
While some products saw declines such as trucks down 39.2%; passenger cars down 26.4%, cement and clinker down 15.5%; NPK fertiliser down 16.9%; car swipes 9.6%, camera modules down 12%.
The results of a survey on production and business trends of local firms in the first quarter showed that 22.37% of the enterprises sawbetter performance compared to the same period last year; 42.22% said they met difficulties while 35.52% held that their production and business remained stable.
