of Van Long natural reserve. Located in Gia Van commune, Gia Vien district, Van Long is the largest wetland in northern delta covering nearly 3000 hectares. It is home of many species of plants and mammals in which some of them are listed in Red book of Vietnam and the world such as the very rare Delacour Langur.

In the Van Long forest, there are 457 species of plants, eight of which are listed in Vietnam's Red Book. There are 39 species of animals, including 9 rare species such as languor, Tibetan bear, chamois, Loris, and red-face monkey. There are nine reptiles listed in Vietnam's Red Book such as grass-snake, varan, slow and harmless boas, and gecko.
Delacour's langurs in Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve
Despites impacts of time and weather, Van long still keeps its authentic and fresh beauty. Each mountain in Van long was named following its shape like Nghien, Hom Sach, Da Ban, Meo Cao, Co Tien, Vo Dung, Canh Cong, Mo Coi Mountain... Each one is an attractive legend. The limestone mountain features with beautiful caves with strange stalagmites and stalactites of caves: Ca (Fish) cave, Rua (Turtle) caves… Not only being the wetland nature reserve Van Long is also an attractive sightseeing called "bay without wave" since cruising on the bay travelers will see a giant mirror reflects clearly surrounding scenery on its transparent water surface.
Saying goodbye to Van long, visitors will spend hours to bath in Kenh Ga hot spring. Visitors must spend 20 minutes on boat to access Kenh ga hot spring as this area is surrounded by Hoang Long River. There were several legends for the name of Kenh Ga, some people said that there is a stone like a rooster on the mountain, while some said the hot water from spring can used to pluck chicken…
French scientists and domestic experts said the temperature of water pours from a limestone mountain up to 500C and above. The water contains numerous minerals like Natri chloride, calcium, Magium; clorua…that are good for health and disease healing.
Visiting Kenh ga Hot spring, you also witness rural daily life of local resident in floating village nearby. A peaceful floating village lies in quiescent river, the sound of bell inside cathedral echoes in the peaceful atmosphere that make you forget all hustle of life.
