Attending the working session were Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; and members of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board.
At the session, a representative of the Thanh Cong Group reported its production and business results in 2020 and plans this year, and put forth proposals to provincial authorities.
In 2020, Thanh Cong enjoyed record growth in automobile production and sales. The group manufactured and assembled over 77,000 automobiles of all kinds, marking the highest number since Thanh Cong started its operation and also the highest figure among domestic car producers.
Huyndai, which accounts for 20 percent of the market share, became the best selling brand in Vietnam. Last year, Thanh Cong contributed nearly 15 trillion VND (652.8 million USD) to the state budget, including 14.2 trillion VND to the provincial budget.
Currently, the group employs 90,000 workers, including over 4,000 labourers working at its plant in Ninh Binh province.
In 2021, Thanh Cong plans to increase its automobile production and assembly capacity and implementing a 54-hole golf course project at Yen Thang Lake in Yen Mo district.
At the working session, the group proposed the provincial authorities speed up the site clearance for a housing project for workers; hand over 12.8-hectare Enzo Viet land plot to Thanh Cong to carry out its automobile supporting plant; and build a flyover connecting Thanh Cong's factory with the dormitory for workers.
It also asked the provincial authorities to facilitate the Yen Thang golf course project so that the investor could start construction of resort works in the second quarter of 2021.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha congratulated and recognized Thanh Cong's achievemens in 2020, and thanked the group for its contribution to the province's socio-economic development in the past years.
Ha said the provincial authorities agreed with its suggestions and would create the best conditions for the Thanh Cong Group to fulfill its goals.
