The Standing Board of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee on February 25 had a working session with the Dong Giao Foodstuff Export Joint Stock Company (Doveco) to hear its production and business results in 2020, as well as its plans and proposals for the next five years.

Attending the working session were Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh; Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; and members of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board.
At the session, Chairman of the Doveco Board of Directors Dinh Cao Khue reported the company's production and business results in 2020 and plans for this year, and its business strategy in the coming period.
In 2020, Doveco enjoyed a growth rate of 230 percent and became the country's biggest exporter of vegetables and fruits to the EU. Its key export staples included condensed products, frozen vegetables and canned fruits and vegetables.
The company earned 1.95 trillion VND (85 million USD) in 2020, and created jobs for over 2,500 workers with average wages ranging from 7-12 million VND per month.
Doveco proposed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ninh Binh's authorities create favorable conditions for it to build a centre for seed research and production, and quality verification of agricultural products.
The company suggested the provincial authorities speed up the approval of a planning scheme and decide to set up Trung Son industrial cluster so that some partners of Doveco could start construction of supporting plants to produce packaging tin cans.
In particular, it will construct a modern mushroom plant, which has capital investment of 1.5 trillion VND (64,7 million USD), covering an area of 10 hectares.

With its advantages in producing and processing agricultural products as well as its business strategy and effective investment methods, Doveco is expected to become a "phenomenon" of the Vietnamese agriculture sector, Doanh stressed.
Doanh also affirmed that the ministry agreed with the company's proposals and promised to continue assisting Doveco in terms of orientations, technology and personnel.
Concluding the session, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha congratulated and recognised Doveco's achievemens in 2020, and spoked highly of its development plans for the next five years.

Ha stressed that the company's development strategy is in line with the socio-economic development orientations set by the 22nd Congress of the provincial Party Organisation.
