The delegation included Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Dien, and other officials from departments and branches and the Rector of Hoa Lu University.
Currently, Hoa Lu University has 267 teachers, lecturers, and cadres. It has 6 functional rooms, 3 centers, 7 specilized departments and 2 departments, providing courses of study on 34 majors.
In recent years, the university has cooperated with domestic prestigious universities to offer postgraduate training programs and tourism training to meet human resources needs of the locality.
The university had, however, faced a declining enrollment in some majors, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, literature, and history in the past few years.This situation forced the university to reduce its trainning courses which has affected its staff.
In order to grow amid the new context, Hoa Lu university asked for permission to establish a multi-level general education school (Pedagogical practice school), tohelp support their students and lecturers in their work and study.
The university said it wants to establish a Center for Scientific Research and Technology Transfer as well.
At the working session, Chairman Dien acknowledged the achievements made by the univesrsity and staff in the past years and at the same time pointed out its weaknesses and shortcomings.
He said in the coming time the university needs to have a plan to provide training courses related to profession and foreign languages for its lecturers and staff.
He stressed the need to enhance scientific research activities; pay heed to developing key departments such as Culture - Tourism, Economics - Technology, continue cooperating with prestigous universities nationwide to provide trainning programs for their students, and promptly establish a University Council under the regulations of the Law on University (revised).
The Chairman also gave the nod to recommendations and proposals of the Hoa Lu University and assigned the university to coordinate with related departments and sectors to realize its submitted plans and proposals.
