In the period of 2014-2022, the provincial Union of Friendship Organisations mobilised over 6.5 million USD from 36 international and foreign non-government organisations (NGOs) to support 28 projects and programmes in the province.
These projects and programmes have helped improve the livelihoods for local people, eliminate poverty and support disadvantaged people.

Under the project, 25 Self-help clubs in the province have been set up and provided knowledge related to self-taking care and solutions to prevent and control high blood pressure and diabetes in the community.
The project's initial success has helped beneficiaries to increase their awareness of self-taking care, keeping environmental hygiene, and doing business to escape poverty.
While the project on enhancing the medical system's capacity in depression management based on the community funded by BasicNeeds Network has helped increase the capacity of detecting high-risk patients and treating them promptly, thereby helping them reintegrate into the community.
Dr Duong Quynh Hoa, Director of the province's Mental Hospital, said the project was launched in July 2022 in five communes of Hoa Lu district. To date, nearly 1,000 people have been provided with knowledge of depression and treatment method, while nearly 500 people have been detected and treated at medical facilities.
At the same time, five groups of depression treatment in the community have been established. Many people with a high risk of depression have been detected and treated promptly, thus saving money for patients and their families and ensure social order.
With the active and responsible participation of the Ninh Binh Union of Friendship Organisations, programmes and projects funded by foreign NGOs have brought about numerous benefits and mobilised resources in terms of funding, knowledge, experience and technology to the province's socio-economic development.
