The prime minister made the statement at a conference on January 21 reviewing the performance of the office in 2013 and outlining new tasks for 2014.
In 2013, the Government Office organised four meetings to discuss amendments to the 1992 Constitution as well as 19 bills and other legal documents for submission to the National Assembly.
The Government Office also periodically collected feedback from the public on issues which were attracting attention from the people and the media, which were reported to the prime minister and his deputies.
PM Dung commended the Government Office for helping enhance the effectiveness of Government policies and its substantive contributions to the country's socio-economic achievements in 2013.
He stressed that the Government Office needs to collaborate more with other Government ministries and agencies as well as expedite the formulation of laws essential to social management.
The prime minister added that the Government Office should be more proactive in publicising accurate and up-to-date information on activities of the Government and its subordinate agencies.
He noted also that the Government Office needs to pay attention to enhancing the qualifications and responsibility of its staff in order to meet requirements of their assignments.
