President Truong Tan Sang meets with Busan mayor

President Truong Tan Sang made this point in Hanoi on April 3 at a reception for Busan Mayor Hur Nam Sik, who is currently leading a delegation of businesspeople and intellectuals on a working visit to Vietnam .

The similarities in the lifestyle and culture of the Vietnamese community in the RoK and of the Korean community in Vietnam are positive and unique manifestations of these bilateral diplomatic relations, the President said.

The leader asked the RoK government and Busan authorities to further assist the overseas Vietnamese in the country with integration into the local community. He also affirmed that the Vietnamese State stands ready to facilitate the operations of RoK businesses in Vietnam so they may do business just as they do in their own home country.

For his part, Mayor Hur affirmed that Busan authorities hope to co-operate more in various fields with many Vietnamese cities as well as with Ho Chi Minh City, with which they have enjoyed close relations over the past two decades.

He also asked President Sang to help further strengthen the relations between Vietnam and the RoK, including those with Busan.
