Preparations hastened for Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2024

The annual tourism week is among various activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of UNESCO recognition of Trang An Landscape Complex as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.

The event aims to introduce the unique features and outstanding cultural values of Ninh Binh as well as local tourism potential and advantages, especially the World Cultural and Natural Heritage - Trang An Landscape Complex. 

The opening ceremony will be held at Dong Gung coach station in Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist site in Ninh Hai commune of Hoa Lu district.

Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, said the department has prepared conditions relating to the opening ceremony such as installing astage and establishing a lighting system.

This year, visitors can observe a vivid picture depicting the image of a young boy playing the flute on the back of buffalo (called Muc dong thoi sao) on a rice field of more than 9,500 square metres.

They also have a chance to participate in many interesting activities such as observing traditional handicraft products and OCOP products of the province such as Bo Bat ceramics, embroidery products of Van Lam village, and Tam Coc Golden Season photography tour.

Besides, the traditional handicraft products of numerous localities nationwide will be showcased at the Old Quarter while specialties will be offered at acuisine market.

A goat fighting competition will be held for the first time as part of the tourism week.

In particular, a couple of rituals honouring agricultural production activities will be re-enacted with the participation of 2,000 local people.

Nguyen Quoc Hung, Chairman of the Hoa Lu District People's Committee, said that in order to advertise the tourism week, Hoa Lu district has soon enhanced communication work on mass media means. Roads leading to the Tam Coc Bich Dong tourist site, center area of Hoa Lu district are decorated with banners and posters to welcome the tourism week.

In addition, communes and towns were also asked to clean the environment, upgrade the landscape, and ensure social security and traffic safety at the Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist site.

Art clubs in Hoa Lu district, and artists of Ninh Binh's Cheo Theatre are preparing for their performances during the seven-day event.

The thorough preparations are hoped to contribute to the success of the tourism week and affirm the brand name of the outstanding tourism product of Ninh Binh as well.
