The Youth Union and Student's Association of Ho Chi Minh City hosted a programme on March 25 to celebrate the 91st founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) (March 26, 1931 - 2022).

Delegates at the programme highlighted the traditions of the HCYU and reviewed the key activities held by the city's Youth Union during Youth Month 2022.
At the event, nine youth collectives were honoured with the 2021 Ho Hao Hon Award for their initiatives, creative models and solutions with effective contributions to the city's youth movement.
The annual Ho Hao Hon Awards, which are named after martyr Ho Hao Hon, Hero of the People's Armed Forces and the first Secretary of the Saigon - Gia Dinh (now HCM City) Youth Union.
Over the past two decades, the award has been presented to 173 models and solutions by 98 collectives and 44 individuals in the city.
* A ceremony observing the HCYU's 91st founding ceremony was held in Phu Yen Province on the same day.
Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Youth Union Phan Xuan Hanh reviewed the glorious history and tradition of the HCYU and spoke highly of the provincial youth's creativity and practical contributions to the development of the province as well as the country in general.
On the occasion, the provincial youth union presented certificates of merit to 28 local youth union members for their enthusiastic participation in and contributions to the province's youth movements in the 2019-2021 period.

* In celebration of the HCYU's 91st anniversary, the Hai Phong City Youth Union has organised many practical activities and projects to promote youth's vanguard role in facilitating socio-economic development, Party building, and COVID-19 prevention and control in the city.
Accordingly, the city's youth union members have joined hands to inaugurate nine children's playgrounds worth 121 million VND, presented gifts worth over 21 million VND to 17 disadvantaged households, provided financial support worth nearly 1.2 billion VND to children who have been seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and planted nearly 1,750 trees in the city.
They have also enthusiastically participated in activities to protect the environment, build new-style rural areas, and support frontline workers in the COVID-19 fight.
